Quality Over Everything

Founded by Michael Cramer in 2022, Hi-Fuel saw an opportunity to revitalize Colorado’s cannabis dried flower market. For years the medical and recreational markets have been flooded with over-dried, terp-less buds. Among the few brands who do actually produce quality flower, the prices they charge are often unaffordable for the average consumer.

Hi-Fuel focuses on producing the highest quality flower at the lowest possible prices. We have a genetic library of over 40 completely unique cultivars, most of which have been hunted in-house, from seed. We are constantly seeking out new genetics and popping seeds produced by many of the top breeders from all over the world.

Old-School Start, New-School Fire

Michael began growing in his basement in 2020 with the help of a longtime friend who had been growing for almost a decade at the time. At that point, he was growing under double ended high-pressure sodium lights and watering 7-gallon fabric smart pots by hand.

Over the next two years, he refined his grow processes and focused all his energy into increasing quality, yields, and popping seeds in search of the best genetics. In 2022, he acquired a tier-2 recreational grow license attached to a 10,000 square foot facility in Denver, and thus, Hi-Fuel was established.

Fast forward to present day, we have 4 Flower rooms and we grow in 1 gallon Coco-coir bags fed with slow drip irrigation using Athena Pro Line nutrients. For overhead lights, we use exclusively Thinkgrow brand LEDs. Each room also utilizes Craft Farmer undercanopy LEDs, which have been game changing in producing consistent, quality buds throughout the canopy from the bottom to the top of every plant.

Cloning is done in 1.5 inch Rockwool cubes and, once rooted, the clones are planted directly into 1 gallon bags in their respective flowering rooms. It is here where they spend the remainder of their lives. We do not re-pot or transplant them to any other rooms after the initial placement, as we believe in manipulating and moving the plants as little as possible to produce the most natural, highest quality flowers.

At the end of each harvest, rooms are cleaned out and reset from top to bottom to ensure that every batch starts with a clean slate.

Every Detail Matters

Our plants spend 2 weeks in their vegetative phase before being flipped into flower. Flowering cycles run 8-9 weeks, after which they are harvested as whole plants before being hung in our dedicated dry room for 10-14 days. The dry room and packaging room are kept at 60 degrees Fahrenheit and 55-60% humidity. Once dried, everything is hand-trimmed, on branch, before curing inside of bin liners in 27 gallon totes. These are “burped” periodically by removing and replacing lids while gently agitating the bins. Once the terpenes are at their peak, we run quality control tests to ensure that everything is ready to go.

If all boxes are checked, then buds are ready to be packaged into our iconic Hi-Fuel bags. During the packaging process, we set aside all B-buds and Popcorn to use in our pre-rolled joints. So, other than the size of the buds, the material in our joints is the same exact stuff that we put in our pre-pack.

All-in-all, we strive for perfection in every aspect of our processes. In a time when margins are razor-thin and many companies are cutting corners to save money, we focus on quality above all else – no matter the cost to us. Our entire team samples each and every batch to ensure we know exactly what's in every bag and joint that reaches the lungs of our customers.
